Incident Bulletin 6th October 2023

This week’s bulletin contains the latest information about Greece, Lebanon, Bermuda, Slovenia, Libya, Italy and Cyprus.

Greece

Incident: Heavy rainstorms, flooding and landslides affecting operations

Hellenic Post ELTA (GR) , From Wednesday 27/9/2023 the GR territory has been hit for the second time this month by heavy rainstorms, flooding and landslides which affects many areas especially in Central and North Greece as the previous rainstorms.
As a consequence many domestic operations of Hellenic Post (collection, transportation and delivery) have been affected. We will keep you updated when the operations resume back to normal. 

Lebanon

Incident: System migration

LibanPost inform that it will be migrating from IPS 2017 to IPS 2022 from 29 September to 15 October 2023.
LibanPost inform that they will do a system migration and make every effort to minimize the impact of the migration on the processing of international mail and related operations from 29 September to 15 October 2023. Delays in data transmission may nevertheless occur during the aforementioned period.

Bermuda

Report date: 2 October 2023
Incident: Ransomware attack

Bermuda Post Office inform that the Bermuda Government’s IT systems have been the subject of a ransomware attack, which the government is actively working to resolve. As a direct result, the Bermuda Post Office cannot scan inbound and outbound mail items, dispatch, etc. Mail is being processed manually as a contingency measure, but delivery is random and slow. All required scans will be done after the systems are operational again. No timeline has been established as to when normal operations will resume.

Slovenia

Incident: Back to normal

Posta Slovenije inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that all postal operations are back to normal.

Greece

Incident: Update on heavy rainstorms, flooding and landslide

Hellenic Post, inform that Greek territory has been hit for the second time this month by heavy rainstorms, flooding and landslides. As in the case of the previous storms, many areas are affected, especially in central and northern Greece.
As a result, many of Hellenic Post’s domestic operations (collection, transportation and delivery) have been disrupted. The transportation and processing of inbound and outbound mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) is affected, and delays are to be expected in the delivery of mail throughout Greece.

Libya

Report date: 4 October 2023
Incident: Back to normal

Libya Post inform that the problem has been successfully resolved, and the system is operating normally.

Italy

Report date: 4 October 2023
Incident: Issues with customs clearance

Poste Italiane inform that the normal functioning of the national customs IT system has been restored.

Cyprus

Report date: 6 October 2023
Incident: System migration

From 2:30 pm on Friday 6/10/2023 the government node will be disconnected for maintenance and upgrade. It is expected to be connected again on Monday 9/10/2023 7:30 am. During this period we cannot handle any items for all Mail Classes (including the dispatches reception at O/E). As a result, minor delays to the delivery of mail should be expected.
