Incident: Farmers’ movement
Belgium, bpost, informs that, as of 27 January 2024 and owing to the expansion of the Belgian farmers’ movement throughout the country, the majority of motorways, strategic sections of the secondary road network and access to major cities are subject to disruption. This movement is expected to last at least until 2 February 2024. As a result, bpost is experiencing difficulties with regard to the receipt of international shipments, as well as the transportation, collection and delivery of all mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items). Delays are therefore to be expected in the processing of mail.

Incident: Farmers’ movement
France, La Poste, informs that, as of 23 January 2024 and owing to the expansion of the French farmers’ movement throughout the country (including at borders), the majority of motorways, strategic sections of the secondary road network and access to major cities are subject to disruption. As a result, La Poste is experiencing difficulties with regard to the receipt of international shipments, as well as the transportation, collection and delivery of all mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items). Delays are therefore to be expected in the processing of mail.
Finland

Incident: Strikes throughout Finland
Finland, Posti Ltd, informs that, several trade unions have announced that they intend to organize political strikes lasting one or two days in several sectors throughout Finland on February 1–2, 2024.
The Postal and Logistics Union (PAU) and the Automobile and Transport Workers’ Union (AKT) have also announced their participation in political strikes.
Our current preliminary estimate is that the political strikes on February 1–2 will cause delays of a few days to the deliveries.

Incident: Update on postal services following Hurricane Otis
Further to EmIS 153/2023, Servicio Postal Mexicano, advises that the situation in Acapulco and the surrounding municipalities remains critical. However, basic postal services (letter-post and parcel-post items) have been re-established.
Servicio Postal Mexicano is still unable to guarantee electronic data interchange with its partners owing to a lack of power and connectivity in the affected areas, as indicated in the aforementioned EmIS message.
