Direct Link now in Turkey and the Netherlands

We are pleased to announce that we have now started operations with local personnel in Turkey and the Netherlands. During the last few years, the Turkish e-commerce market has grown significantly more and faster than most other markets, although from low levels. Currently, the online share of total retail sales is still well under 10 percent. The global average is about 19 percent, which further underlines the future potential of the Turkish market.

In 2021, 40 percent of the Turkish population bought at least one product online. It’s expected that the number of online consumers within the country will grow to 58 million by 2025.

– The domestic market in Turkey has boomed during the last five years, and yet the cross-border market is still in its early stages and will grow considerably in the years to come, says Yigit Cevik, Direct Link Growth Manager in Turkey.

In the Netherlands, Direct Link has formed a partnership with fulfilment provider HC Group.

– This geographic area sees a large part of the imports into the EU. In order to build on our existing postal solutions, we will also expand our portfolio with more commercial last-mile options in the EU. The Netherlands will act as a gateway for Direct Link locally as well as globally, and will enable new solutions such as cross-docking, warehousing, and linehauls to offer better customer solutions and a consumer experience, says Lucas Egenvall, Commercial Director for Direct Link EMEA Markets.
