Australia

Incident: Mail processing delays 

 

The designated operator of Australia, Australia Post, informs that operations at its Melbourne offices of exchange (IMPC codes beginning with AUMEL) are currently disrupted owing to government-imposed measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The associated restrictions are having a significant impact on the processing and delivery of inbound and outbound mail items.

Australia Post will continue to monitor the evolution of this situation and will provide an update once operations have returned to normal.

 

Belgium

Start date: 15 July 2021
End date: 7 October 2021
Incident: flooding 


the designated operator of Belgium, bpost, informs that postal services have largely returned to normal following the flooding caused by heavy rain in July 2021.
 
Delays may still occur owing to detours to avoid damaged roads and bridges, but the impact on delivery performance is limited. The most severely affected postcode areas are as follows:
 
4020, 4030, 4031, 4032, 4050, 4051, 4130, 4140, 4170, 4180, 4190, 4520, 4700, 4780, 4790, 4800, 4801, 4820, 4821, 4830, 4831, 4834, 4837, 4845, 4860, 4861, 4870, 4877, 4910, 4970, 4980, 5580, 5640, 5650, 5670, 6900, 6940, 6980, 6987 and 6990.
 
Six post offices remain closed for security reasons. However, all other affected post offices have now reopened, albeit with temporary solutions in certain cases.
 


French Polynesia

The designated operator of French Polynesia, OPT-PF – Fare Rata, wishes to inform that the lockdown has ended on 26 September 2021.
 
 

Oman

Start date: 5 October 2021
End date: ongoing
Incident: weather issues

The designated operator of Oman, Oman Post, would like to inform that, as a result of tropical cyclone Shaheen, numerous areas of Oman are experiencing flash floods.
 
Consequently, delays are to be expected with regard to postal operations and transportation and, specifically, the delivery of letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items.
 
 

Sri Lanka

Start date: 21 September 2021
End date: 1 October 2021
Incident: coronavirus

The designated operator of Sri Lanka, the Department of Posts, wishes to inform that the Government of Sri Lanka has temporarily lifted the national lockdown, with effect from 1 October 2021.
 
All mail items sent to Sri Lanka will be processed and delivered in compliance with the government-imposed restrictions and safety guidelines. The office of exchange and all other mail processing centres are operating with a reduced workforce. Most administrative functions will continue to be performed remotely, depending on the availability of resources. International airports are open to a restricted number of passenger/cargo flights, and the transportation of outbound mail remains limited to those destinations with available air carriers.
 
These measures will continue to have an impact on delivery standards for all categories of mail. 

 

Thailand

The designated operator of Thailand, Thailand Post, would like to inform that, as a result of Tropical Depression Dianmu, there have been flash floods in many areas of the northern, north-eastern and central parts of Thailand.
 
Consequently, there are some delays in postal operations and transportation, and the delivery of letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items throughout the following postcode areas is affected to a greater or lesser extent:
