Heavy snowfall caused numerous flight delays and cancellations at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) on 2 and 3 December. 250 short and medium-haul flights have been canceled. Lufthansa has announced an Embargo for Mail and Cargo on their Continental flights from Sunday, 03.12., 00:00 am until Monday, 04.12., 00:00 am.
Furthermore, on 2 December, operations were affected by a warning strike at the provider Aviation Handling Services (AHS) responsible, among other things, for load planning and control for several airlines, including Air France/KLM, Delta, Aeroflot and El Al.

Adverse weather conditions prompted extensive flight disruptions at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD).

Due to large wildfires in Southern California deliveries in this region might be delayed in relation to damaged infrastructure.

Severe weather conditions are currently impeding mail delivery in Dryden, Rainy River and Sept-Îles. While every effort is being made to deliver the mail, some customers may not receive mail on that day. Normal delivery will resume once the conditions improve and it is safe to do so.

Due to a snowstorm, numerous flights were cancelled or delayed at Moscow’s airports Sheremetyevo (SVO) and Domodedovo (DME).

Heavy fog prompted numerous flight cancellations and delays at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU).

French Polynesia

The earlier reported strike by Air France staff in French Polynesia ended on Sunday, 3 December 2017. Backlogged mail will be forwarded this week, depending on the availability of Air France flights.

CorreosChile has advised that delays are expected in the processing and delivery of all inbound postal items to Chile due to the relocation of the Santiago international office of exchange between 7 and 11 December 2017.
Chilean Post expects normal operation to resume on the 12 December, however, any backlog as a result may impact on delivery for rest of the week.
