Belgium

The designated operator of Belgium, bpost, has advised that there could be a disruption at Brussels airport and heavy delays with air traffic to and from the country due to a planned nationwide strike on 7 October 2016. Please note that all inward and outward postal items would be delayed.
Germany

The Independent Flight Attendants” Organisation (UFO) has broken up current wage negotiations for cabin crew of Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings without results. Strikes are possible from October 1st.
Greece

Hellenic Post have informed that the union of air traffic controllers in Greece have announced a 2 day strike from Sunday 9th to Monday 10th October. This may have an impact on the delivery and distribution of mail and parcel products.
USA

The designated operator of the United States of America, USPS, has advised that hurricane Matthew has hit South Florida and Georgia today. This will affect the delivery of mail and parcels in this area. Residents have been evacuated, flights have been cancelled and roads have been closed.
Caribbean Islands

Hurricane Matthew which is sweeping through the Caribbean region, continues to pose severe risks to lives and property. The flooding rain, winds and an inundating storm will surge through on Tuesday affecting all postal operations across the region. Specifically Jamaica, Bahamas, Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic have raised alerts but other Islands and countries in the region will be affected.The impact is expected to last at least until 14th October 2016.
Australia

It has been reported by Australia Post that following some negotiations between the government and the union, the strike action has ended. There will be some impacts until 11th October as it will finish clearing the backlog created by the strike action.
Uruguay

The designated operator of Uruguay, Correo Uruguayo, has advised that the Uruguayan Association of Postal Workers (AFPU) has announced union action since 5th October 2016, until further notice. These measures have affected the processing of inward international parcels. Please note that service delays are expected.
