Incident bulletin 3rd November 2017

This week’s bulletin contains updates about: Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, Poland, Iraq and Japan.

A number of European countries have had  Bank Holidays over the period of 30th October – 1st November, including Germany, France and Benelux. Driving bans were also in place in some countries.
Please note that Germany has a double Bank Holiday (31st and 1st), and as such deliveries may be impacted.

Parcel delivery staff at the DHL Neubrandenburg Delivery GmbH went on strike on 28 and 30 October. Delays in parcel delivery in Rostock might be possible.

Due to separate strikes on 27th and 30th – 31st October, parcel operation / delivery has experienced delays as result.

End date:   7-14 days

Greece Post has been applying new customs procedures on both International and domestic mail collection and delivery. Due to an adjustment period, deliveries can be delayed.

Czech Republic, Germany, Poland

Storm Herwart caused severe damage and widespread power outages in Germany, Poland and Czech Republic. Numerous roads were flooded or blocked.
The German railway company Deutsche Bahn suspended its long-distance traffic in Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.

Due to political developments in northern Iraq the governments has issued an embargo on flights into the region. It is expected that no deliveries will be possible until the situation is resolved.

Japan has been hit by typhoons Lan and Saloa, causing flooding and landslides. Deliveries in the region might suffer delayes due to damaged infrastructure.
