One of Frankfurt Airport’s (FRA) runway will be closed because of maintenance works. According to Fraport, despite the intense pre-planning, disruptions to flight operations and isolated cancellations may occur.

25th May 2017 – is Ascension Day in the Netherlands. This is a national holiday and therefore there will be no hand over or delivery of mail. On Friday 26 May 2017 all PostNL facilities will be open again.

The following nationwide aviation strikes have been announced in Italy:
• Air traffic controllers: 13:00 – 17:00
• ENAV personnel: 10:00 – 18:00
• Alitalia pilots and flight attendants: 10:00 – 18:00 Unless averted, considerable flight disruptions are to be expected.

A nationwide lorry driver strike is planned in Italy. The strike will last four hours; the time will be decided at local level. Blocked highways and roads, including access to Italian airports, are to be expected.

A state of emergency has been declared in Washington County, Indiana, on 19 May after severe flooding damaged buildings and inundated roads. Flooding was also reported in Magoffin County and Allen County, Kentucky as well as in Sumner County, Tennessee.

Due to severe weather, hundreds of flights from and to the following US airports were delayed and numerous canceled yesterday:
• John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
• Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
• LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
• Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
• Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)

The Teniente General Benjamín Matienzo International Airport (TUC) in Tucumán will be closed because of scheduled maintenance works. Flights to and from the airport will be diverted to airports such as Termas de Río Hondo Airport in Santiago del Estero.
