Incident Bulletin 1st of April 2022

This week’s bulletin contains the latest information about Sweden, Spain, Denmark, Colombia, Poland and France.

 

Sweden

Incident: suspension of mail services to and from Belarus and the Russian Federation

The designated operator of Sweden, PostNord Sverige, wishes to inform that, owing to the sanctions imposed on Belarus and the Russian Federation by the European Union, it has temporarily suspended mail services to and from these two Union member countries, in accordance with articles 36-001.2, 17-143 and 17-219 of the UPU Convention Regulations.

From 24 March 2022, PostNord Sverige will neither forward nor accept postal items (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) to and from Belarus and the Russian Federation. This temporary suspension will apply until PostNord Sverige has established and implemented a screening system which enables it to comply with these sanctions.

 

Spain

Start date: 14 March 2022

Incident: transport stoppage

The designated operator of Spain, S.E. Correos y Telégrafos, wishes to inform that a transport stoppage has been affecting goods mobility, transport flows and access to logistics hubs since Monday, 14 March 2022. This stoppage is also affecting transport of mails by Correos. Therefore, there may be some delays on mainland road routes and mixed routes (road + ship) to the Canary and Balearic islands. 

 

Denmark

Incident: suspension of mail services to and from Belarus and the Russian Federation

The designated operator of Denmark, PostNord Danmark, wishes to inform that, owing to the sanctions imposed on Belarus and the Russian Federation by the European Union, it has temporarily suspended mail services to and from these two Union member countries, in accordance with articles 36-001.2, 17-143 and 17-219 of the UPU Convention Regulations.

From 28 March 2022, PostNord Danmark will neither forward nor accept postal items (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) to and from Belarus and the Russian Federation. This temporary suspension will apply until PostNord Danmark has established and implemented a screening system which enables it to comply with these sanctions. 

 

Colombia

Incident: coronavirus

Further to Incident Bulletin 14.05.21 and 20.03.20, the designated operator of Colombia, Servicios Postales Nacionales S.A. 4-72, wishes to inform that postal services are now back to normal.

 

Poland

Start date: 1 April 2022,
End date: ongoing
Incident: suspension of mail services to and from the Russian Federation

The designated operator of Poland, Poczta Polska, wishes to inform that, owing to extraordinary circumstances currently preventing the exchange of mail with the Russian Federation (including the suspension of air connections), its postal services to and from that Union member state have been suspended with effect from 25 March 2022, in accordance with articles 36-001.2, 17-143 and 17-219 of the UPU Convention Regulations.

Poczta Polska will neither forward nor accept postal items (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) to and from the Russian Federation. This suspension will remain in effect until it is both practically and legally possible to restore such exchanges.

 

France

Incident: coronavirus

Further to Incident Bulletin 14.01.22, the designated operator of France, La Poste, wishes to inform that, following the latest announcements by the Prime Minister on the relaxation of public health measures throughout the country, the difficulties announced through previous messages have now been resolved.

While distancing measures remain in place for staff and customers, La Poste announces a return to normal for its postal operations across its network, and the restoration of normal working hours for its public offices. La Poste is now once again able to guarantee compliance with delivery standards and deadlines for all letter-post, parcel and EMS products.
