Italy

France

Two unions representing nearly half of Air France’s flight attendants have called for a three-day strike from 18 to 20 March.
Finland

The ground services strike at Helsinki Airport in Finland that started last week will continue this coming Friday, March 17, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. According to Posti Ltd., the strike will cause delays in handling of airmail, for both inbound and outbound volumes.

Thursday, 23 March from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday, 24 March from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Germany

According to media reports, ground staff at the Berlin airports Tegel (TXL) and Schönefeld (SXF) has extended their strike action by another 24 hours.
Portugal

The National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Personnel (SNPVAC) has given strike notice from 18 March to 18 April.
Cyprus

Delays in the transmission and receipt of dispatches are to be expected as a result of maintenance works at the Government Internet Node. In addition, Cyprus Post will be unable to exchange EDI messages or to access the Global Customer Service System (GCSS) from 12.00 noon on Friday, 17 March 2017 until the morning of Monday, 20 March 2017.
USA

Major snowstorm has been severely impacting postal operations in the Mid-Atlantic and North-Eastern areas of the United States since Tuesday, 14 March 2017.
The bad weather has resulted in thousands of flight cancellations and delays and road closures, and is leading to problems with mail transportation and inbound and outbound processing operations at the New York JFK ISC.

Over the next four months, one of the runways at San Francisco International Airport will be shut down during several weekends for a major maintenance project. The closures are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday through noon the following Monday on the weekends of: March 31, April 7, 21 and 28, May 5, 12 and 19, June 2 and 9. During this period, some flight delays are anticipated.
Canada

Canada Post reports on current weather-related delivery disruptions: suspension of mail delivery in the entire province of Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador (Gander); also delivery disruptions at New Brunswick (Edmunston).
Australia

Weather warnings have been issued across Northern New South Wales (postcodes 2484, 2429, 2780, 2480, 2602, 2611, 2605, 2606, 2204, 2902, 2612, 2914, 2913, 2614, 2615, 2480, 2481, 2482, 2484). Heavy rainfall is forecast, leading to flash flooding and unpredictable levels in floodways and river crossings. This will affect the collection and delivery of all mail products.
Nya Zealand

Following sustained heavy rainfall in parts of the North Island, parts of Auckland experienced flash-flooding during a severe storm, causing power outages and traffic disruptions due to road closures. Also, State Highway 1 near Kaikoura (South Island) remains blocked by floodwater.
Peru

Heavy rain has caused flooding and landslides in 711 districts of Peru; the northern coast is particularly affected. Further torrential rain is predicted for the coming days.
