Denmark – delays

Start date: 4 December 2021
End date: ongoing
Incident: delays in deliveries

PostNord Denmark apologises for the disruptions and delays in their network, and would like to share the below updates:

Record number of parcels and longer delivery times
Parcels are continuing to pour in and we have record volumes at the moment.

At the moment, we have 300 extra people on the road, but with such large volumes we can’t avoid some parcels taking several days to arrive.

Please note that many people order parcels for collection from our post offices. In some places, there are so many parcels that there is no more space on the shelves, and some customers will be asked to collect their parcels from a post office other day than the one they expected. Large post offices may also have parcels waiting for a day or two before there is space on the shelves i.e. before the parcels can be scanned and made ready for collection. Please encourage customers to collect their parcels quickly from post offices, as this helps make space for new parcels.

Accurate expectations result in happy customers
You can give your customers an even better experience by providing them with accurate expected delivery times at your check-out. For example, you could state that high volumes mean that parcels may take a few extra days to be processed at PostNord after we receive them from you.

If possible, please wait with sending EDI to us and registering parcels in our Track&Trace system until you actually send the parcel to us. Many customers expect quick delivery from PostNord after the EDI registration, even though we have perhaps still not yet received the parcel from you at that time.

A white Christmas is lovely, but also challenging
After the snowstorm last week, we have a backlog of parcels that we have not yet been able to deliver in North Jutland. Unfortunately, we have therefore had to send some extra parcels for collection from the Aalborg Business Center.

We are looking forward to the upcoming busy days leading up to Christmas, and are doing everything we can to get parcels delivered as soon as possible.

Italy – Update on IT issues

Start date:  1 July 2021
End date: ongoing
Incident: IT issues

the designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, wishes to provide with the following update:

  1.  Further errors are being experienced with the customs systems. These are slowing customs processes for parcel-post and EMS items, as well as small packets. IT staff are working round the clock to resolve the issues, together with their customs counterparts.
  2. Data transmission disruption is continuing and has worsened, especially for parcel-post and EMS items. While these items are still being processed and delivered, tracking events are not currently being sent. There is still misalignment between internal databases.

This disruption is impacting track and trace, as well as customer services’ ability to process inquiries.

Latvia

Start date: 2 December 2021
End date: ongoing
Incident: heavy snowfall

The designated operator of Latvia, Latvijas Pasts, would like to inform that heavy snow throughout Latvia since 2 December has led to delayed deliveries owing to poor road conditions. A red warning has been issued in the Riga area.

Consequently, transport and delivery operations in Latvia, for both inbound and outbound letter-post and parcel-post items, are disrupted. Despite the weather conditions, Latvijas Pasts will endeavour to deliver all mail, but there may be delays.

Morocco

Start date: 29 November 2021
Expected end date: 13 December 2021
Incident: coronavirus

The designated operator of Morocco, Poste Maroc, would like to inform that, following the latest developments with COVID-19, and in order to limit its spread, the Moroccan authorities have decided to suspend international flights to and from Morocco from 29 November to 13 December 2021. This is liable to result in delays in the collection, transport and delivery of inbound and outbound letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items.

New Zealand

Start date: 7 December 2021
End date: ongoing
Incident: coronavirus

The designated operator of New Zealand, New Zealand Post, would like to inform that it is currently unable to provide transit services to the Solomon Islands owing to the absence of available flights. In view of this situation, New Zealand Post is suspending transit services to the Solomon Islands until further notice.

Furthermore, significant delays are to be expected in the dispatch of transit mail to Fiji, New Caledonia and Vanuatu, owing to the increase in export volumes during this peak period, the separation of staff in accordance with government-imposed measures to combat COVID-19, and delays in aviation security screening. New Zealand Post is making every effort to resolve these issues, but it is expected that it will take two weeks to clear the backlog.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Start date: 12 April 2021
End date: 6 December 2021
Incident: Activity of La Soufrière Volcano

The designated operator of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, SVG Post, would like to inform that the emergency situation resulting from the explosive eruption of the La Soufrière volcano has ended. All commercial and non-commercial activities have returned to normal, and the processing of mail to and from the island has therefore resumed.
