Finance & Accounting Manager Europe

Direct Link Worldwide Ltd. – London, Middlesex, UK

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Controlling, leading and driving results for Direct Link’s Europe companies
  • Personnel responsibility, managing the finance teams for the Europe companies
  • Part of the Direct Link Europe management team, working with the Europe Managing Director
  • Preparing budgets, forecasts and management reports to the senior management including Direct Link Group
  • Continue to improve and develop the Balanced Scorecard management system, and further developing relevant KPIs and leading indicators for the business
  • Monthly regional reviews, together with Europe Managing Director and Direct Link Group
  • Strengthening and aligning the Finance teams in each country, and working with Group Finance
  • Identifying control weaknesses and operational gaps in existing processes and providing recommendations and implementation lead to mitigate risks
  • Business case development for strategic decisions and projects within Europe
  • Evaluating and developing pricing models to ensure common business practices
  • Ad-hoc analyses of profitability, development and business opportunities
  • General business administration and ensuring compliance with corporate regulators and authorities in each country
  • Ensuring monthly closing of financial accounts across all subsidiaries is timely, accurate and in compliance with group/statutory requirements
  • Monitoring cash flow and reviewing the cash flow forecast of Europe
  • Reviewing and working closely with European countries on improving cash collection and DSO
  • Occasional travel within Europe – Germany, Poland and Sweden

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience within the logistics industry, targeting international package volumes sent to consumers outside the US preferably within the e-commerce sectors
  • Finance or Business Degree or equivalent with at least 5-10 years relevant working experience
  • or ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with at least 3 years relevant experience
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office (e.g. Excel) and financial systems (SAP an advantage)
  • Prior working experience in a logistics company will be beneficial but not essential
  • Good problem-solver and process implementer
  • Proactive, good team player and enjoys working with people in an international environment
